I hope that your papers reached Mr. Hodge before he left town for he was to go west this month, just when I do not know.  It will be too bad if you have to go back to Washington.  Will that mean that you will have to return to the office?  If it means that, could you not ask for leave without pay until the papers can come to Nebraska?  Would that not save you money in the end?  I may not quite understand the matter, but I hope all may be adjusted without expense & difficulty, to you.
