I have some photographs, & will show them to you, & tell you all about it.

Then we drove to Chatsworth, the seat of the Duke of Devonshire- a very stately sumptuous place.  The park is very large with in extent we drove nearly a mile before we reached the house.  There were several herds of deer, beautiful creatures that were running about- large fine stags.  The [[Dewiot?]] river runs 
thro. grounds which are very elaborate, lake fountains- beautiful fountains some of them & some very queer.  One is in 
a woody nook & there is an old tree.  I think it must be bronze, out of the branches water spurts.  I could not go near for I should get wet.  Another fountain fell over a high cliff a hundred feet high moss growing on the rock & trees at the top, like a mountain waterfall.  There was a sort of summer house high up, in behind trees the beautiful slopes, the cupola was all bubbling with water.  Water fell like a soft veil over
