part of the house, and the long flight of stairs up to the house
was a series of waterfalls. The lawns were very [[sele?]] &
so velvety & fine. The trees were grand, the woods a delight.

Indoors the rooms were very large & luxurious - one wearied of
them. We had tea served us in the Statuary Hall - It was very
gracious in the Duke to throw open his house & entertain 200
people, and he did it very handsomely.

We drove back & reached the [[?]] at 7 P.M. I was very tired.

Today I could not go to hear the Archbishop of Yut. because we
can run on Sunday until after 12 o'clock and the church is 2
miles off, I could not walk so far.

From here I go to visit Mr. Hartland in Gloucester & then back to Fair Orchard.

I probably can't write again until I get there. Take good care
of yourself & write me often.

Ever Affly M.
