Sept. 22 1910
Dear Francis

Your letter of Sept. 10. was forwarded to me here, where I have been for the past four days & leave tomorrow. This is the home of two ladies one Miss Childers, who is of royal descent & a very pleasant lady, & Miss M. Carter Sturge, sister of Dr. S. with whom Miss Gay lives at Fair Orchard.

The house is old and quaint, the garden is very fine, altho a little formal in parts. The paths between the flower beds are green soft turf not gravel. There is an Italian garden enclosed in high walls. You enter by toll gates, there is a fountain, terraces with flowers, [[and]] at the top a sort of [[L?]]

[[margin]] Shall do about Italy. When I get home, I feel as tho. I let go. It is hard not to do so. Be careful of your limits. God bless & help you. Ever affly M.
