I am wondering if a note could be added.  I think I will write Mr. Gurley today and ask him if it could be added.  I suppose the time when Black bear act as servants is when the Counsel is held- & when sending out scouts, or is it when permission is being  sought from the pack in the tent of war for a party to go forth in aggressive warfare. 

Thinking it over.  I will [[underline]] not [[/underline]] write Mr. Gurley- for by the time you get this letter you will have the proof of the book.  Look at the chapter on Warfare & see if a note could be put in ^[[in the galley to go]] at the foot of a page or if it could be added at the end ^[[of the book]].  or whether it would be better to leave it out altogether and let it appear only in the Osage book. I think you will find that something is said about the Black bear people joining with the

Thinking it all over as I am so uncertain where the note should go- perhaps it would be better to leave it out altogether in the Omaha book but in the Osage book speak of it & more fully explain its Omaha custom by the Osage [[nation?]].
