Soc'y meeting & he tells Mr Gurley that this gentleman has made quite a study of [[strikethrough]] botany [[/strikethrough]] Ethnic-botany among the Omahas. I should like to see it.

The Bureau spells Ponca with a "c", & I suppose the name where such occurs will be so spelled. I prefer the "k".

Both Mr. Hodge & Mr. Gurley think all Osage material except that in Chapter I should be cut out & left to appear in your book, so I suppose everything must go. As I have all your letters what you have written,
