What is the name of the gentleman from some college in Bethenny Neb. whom you helped when he visited the reservation? Mr. Mornay has just returned from Neb, was at the Hist. Soc'y meeting & he tells Mr Gurley that this gentleman has made quite a study of [[strikethrough]] botany [[/strikethrough]] Ethnic-botany among the Omahas. I should like to see it.

The Bureau spells Ponca with a "c", & I suppose the name where such occurs will be so spelled. I prefer the "k".

Both Mr. Hodge & Mr. Gurley think all Osage material except that in Chapter I should be cut out & left to appear in your book, so I suppose everything must go. As I have all your letters what you have written,
