Yours of the 9th has just come and I stop many things to reply at once.

I am very sorry to hear of your cold & rheumatism. I wish I could help you. I have not been very well, but am now better. Yesterday I went to the Friday morning club, upon invitation of Mrs King, to hear Mrs Lawson, formerly Miss Francesca Garper, sing two of Mr. Cadman's songs. She sang them beautifully one was "The moon drop low" & she sang it well and it sounded well much better than when we heard it. She did not give the closing high note as a sort of yell or hoop, but as a sigh, or faint cry, and it was beautiful. The audience was most enthusiastic and ever so many spoke to me. Mrs Mathews, Washington Mathews widow was there & she said she heard Ute songs sung. I could not catch the name of the singer, and they had to be
