My dear Francis

Yours of the 15. came this morning and brought me much relief of mind for I was very anxious about you as your last letter was written last week I am solicitous about you & when I do not hear am fearful you may be sick. Has rain come yet? - It is terrible to think of the drought both on the score of health, & the farmers.

Mrs Parsons said that she saw in the paper the name of Saucy Calf among those of the Osage delegates now here, & I wondered if he had left you, but I see it is not the same man & that your old friend stands by you.
