and later on Monday he called on me here & Dr Ostrom asked him to stay to dinner, & he did. We had a very pleasant time. He was on the point of writing me, he said, to tell me he could not go on to Washington to see me. He is working at the Metropolitan Museum. He told us what he was doing & yesterday morning, as it did not rain, Virginia & I went over & he showed us about the Cyprus Collection on which he is working. It rained when we came out & we hurried home.

I shall be home so soon, that I can do nothing here. Just now Mr. Farwell called me up by telephone, & he will call on me this afternoon — at 2 P.M.

I cannot go to see Miss Conant again on account of the rain. She is feeble, & I am sorry not to see her in her home once more. I did not see Miss Newman for she was out of town the day I was there.

Well goodbye. Take good care of yourself, and soon the time will come when we can look in each others' faces, & be in our pretty home. I shall be glad to hear that you have the other outfit.

Ever affly,
