My dear Francis

Your interesting letter of May 4 came yesterday P.M. after I had mailed my letter to you. I am glad to have a date to look forward to, when you will be home.

I appreciate your need to see & talk with Mr. Hodge & Mr. Holmes. I wish very much that the Museum would be able to buy all the packs, for all are really needed to understand the little variations in the great ceremony.

Mr. Culin dined here and this afternoon he happened to mention that he wanted to see a Mr Roddy who calls himself White Buffalo & collects Indian things & has a Winnebago collection he, Mr. Culin, is thinking of getting. Some way it struck me that it might be the man you wrote about, and I think it is, for Mr. Culin said the man was either at Black Falls Wisconsin, or in Pawhuska OK.
