My dear Francis,

Your letters of the 16. & 17 have come  I am glad to know you are fairly well. How is the arm?. It is interesting what you tell me of your meeting with Mr Culin, and I hope all will go well with you. The weather is not as hot with you, I hope, as it is here. It has been up to 105°. The nights have been fearful, owing to all the blinds being off for to be painted there has been no way of shutting the sun out so the heat has been fearful quite using me up. I do not know how I can get on until the relief comes which is promised within 36 to 48 hours.

Alice was married on Tuesday at 3. P.M. She looked very pretty in her white dress & veil  There were about 100 guests relatives on both
