I wrote you what Mr. Hodge said about your taking the time off to visit Chicago & Pittsburgh, so I shall look for you on Friday night the 30 of June. I said to Mr. Hodge that this plan of yours would not cost any money, only time, as you would pay your way in as you were coming home for your vacation. He said "Certainly he should use our time for the investigation." So I think it is fair for you to start earlier & get here by July 1.

By the way you have not sent back my nieces letter. I forget her name & address & I ought to write her before very long.

I've no word from Miss Westcott. I don't like to press her, for it is a very busy time closing her school, as she will be, this month. She will let me know, & it will be time enough for us.

It is queer about the over weight at the Wash. P.O. I weighed the paper, & it [[strikethrough]] said [[/strikethrough]] indicated 4 cents & I put 4 cents on. Dont you get the Tribune? I send it every Sunday?.

Goodbye. I'm very hot & very very tired.
Ever affly [[signature]] M. [[/signature]]

Let me know if your valise comes all right — I have receipt.
