c/ Mrs William Thaw.

Elmhurst Cresson. Wednesday A. M.

My dear Francis

Your letter came just as I was leaving yesterday morning. I am very sorry about your cold and it has set you back. Physically I am more sorry than I can tell you, and I earnestly hope all will go well with you.

I could not get a taxi. They departed 30 minutes earlier so I took Mary & we went by cars to the Station I had got my ticket & chair the day before.

Mr. & Mrs Parsons spent part of Monday Evening with me, and I gave them your address & also mine so that they can keep track of us.

The train was crowded with soldiers a very long train. I changed at Harrisburg & had an easy time on the whole. It was not a very cold day. We were on time So that I kept no one waiting. Mrs Thaw came over to meet me & was very cordiall. I was rather tired but I stayed down at dinner
