chapter as they largely represent the lore of the people. A battle against one set of them was fought in which the Osage used guns and powder to destroy them. They did kill all of them and that was the last of them. The one that interests me the most is the Ki-'tha-ha-pa, or the one with a head at each end of his body. I have not read of or heard of anything like that in the lore of any people but perhaps you have. There are other interesting things that have come up in my conversations with various men. When we get together again next winter you will hear of them all and find much entertainment in them. I have found five kinds of these demons and more may turn up.

Now I must be going. I hope I shall get a letter this morning.
