Ans. July 30-

Pawhuska, Okla.
July 20, 1912,

My dear M,
Several days have passed without my writing a line to you but better that way than never. On Tuesday I was suddenly taken very ill, fever up to 104! and have been flat on my back till Friday morning. Today I am up and dressed but weak as a rag. I can eat only milk toast. I have been under good care and I am glad that I was not taken ill at an Indian house.

Mr. Peterson, the Supervisor who has been temporarily in charge of affairs here, has kept me cheered up by his coming in to see me once in a while and telling me of the day's events. He is a fine man.
