Dear M,
Your letter of the 1st came yesterday. You speak of being cold and here it is so hot that you could bake potatoes out in the sun. You seem to be moving about a good deal and I am glad of that.

The Kaws have gone and now the Pawnees and Arapahoes are here by invitation. During the Kaw visit they had some very good dances, and I think they will have some good ones with the Pawnees and Arapahoes. James Murie is with the Pawnees and I went down to see him. He spoke as though he was still working for the Bureau. He says the bear dance will be given by the time he gets back to Pawnee, and he is very anxious for me to go and see it and I may. James
