cases. The Dept. got wind of that in some way and sent an Inspector out to find out the facts. The people openly speak of the election as a half-breed election, and call B.R. & R.E. the half-breed chiefs. Many of the full-bloods are anxious about the whole thing because they say that if the council refuses further to take action on the new election the Secretary may abolish the council altogether and their anxiety is based on good reasoning. It is all an interesting fight, and it looks as though the Dept. will win out sure.

I am quite well now and I am working on the words of the songs of the Wa-xo-be degree of the Honga rite. Many of the songs are strange and interesting musically. As soon as Wa-xri-ghi is ready I will get the Wa-xo-be degree of the Black Bear and Cougar. These have the same rite.
