My dear M,
Saturday I received a letter from Mr. Hodge asking me to try to hold the wa-xo-be I wrote to him about. He says the appropriation of the Museum is in conflict and they do not know just what funds they can use for various purposes until some definite action is taken on the appropriation. The Sundry Civil Bill which carries the apprn. for the Museum and the Bureau has not yet passed. The Indian bill has not passed. It has been a queer performance by Congress all afraid to do anything on account of politics

On Saturday Mr. Thuin and I started to go to Gray Horse, he
