My dear M,

Your letter of the [[strikethrough]] 23 [[/strikethrough]] 13 came yesterday. I am glad you will see Italy. I wish I could be with you but I can only go as far as the wish. I hope you will have a good time.

I do not know yet whether I can come home in time for Thanksgiving or not. I would like to very much but it all depends on the amount of material I secure. As I wrote you I have secured two degrees of the Honga [[zwa-brizhniga?]] rite and they cover quite a number of songs. Now I shall try to get the [[Nin-zhin-ghon?]] degree. This relates to the rite of fasting and is considered as of more importance than any other degree. In this ceremony all of the 70 and 60 songs are used with all of the forms.
