peace clans, one in each of the two divisions. The peace clan that "sang" belonged to the Honga division, the direct clan being Wa-zha-zhe, Wa-shte-ge or Ponka-Wa-shte-ge.

I stayed at the house of a man by the name of Bill Fletcher. They gave me a big room with a nice clean bed and a chair in it. Also a wash stand with pitcher and bowl, for which I was most grateful. The man was glad to have me as I was able to render him good service with the Agent. I spoke over the telephone in his behalf when he was having opposition from the Chief Clerk in a business [[?]], and my word was accepted. It was quite a surprise to Fletcher when the matter was decided in his favor because when the chief clerk set his foot down on a thing it stayed. I had some difficulty with the constable out there but he soon tamed down.
