My dear M,

On my return from Hominy yesterday, I received your three letters, one dated Sept. 3, one 5", and the last 6". I am very glad that Miss Gay's neice is going with you on your trip and I hope you will have a very good time. I am also glad to hear that all goes well at our home.

We are having our first heavy rain after a dry spell for over a month and with it comes a cold spell. The sudden change makes it a little hard but the change is welcome. The heat of the Summer has been almost unendurable. But I think now the hot weather is over. 

I went to Hominy at the invitation of Charley Wa-xri-zhi to witness the wedding of his daughter. I have again missed the chance of getting a photograph of a bride but a picture from description can be made. I think if I do not succeed in getting a photograph here,
