They worked harder than the white man who today uses labor saving machines. What were the implements used by these Indians. Only a few hours ago the eminent archaeologist, Mr. Mills has shown us that the only implements used by the Indians were sharp stones and bones. These were their plows and cultivators. 

There is no use in dodging this question. When I say that we must work I mean a steady and continuous application of labor, a full day in each day of the week, beginning Monday morning and ending on the the evening of the sixth day. It may be true that the Indians do work some but they do not work enough, not as much as the white man."
