My dear M,

I wrote you from Arkansas city of my return from Nebraska and welcoming you home. Yesterday  I received your letter of Oct. 25" telling me of your movements. By this time you are in New York City and I expect in a day or two you will be home. If wishes could transport us I would be there to receive you. Your letter was sent here but it followed me to Nebraska and then back here. I received one at Walthill dated Oct. 21, telling me of your return to England. I am very glad that you had the chance to see Italy and the interesting things that it has.

My visit to the Omahas was as I was very pleasant as I was received with a great deal of sincere pleasure by many of the people. Margurite is not as morose as she used to be and Susan is working hard over her hospital altho she is in very feeble health. The little hospital is fine and I think it will be of service to both Indians and whites and save much expense to them. It is in a good location and [[freshly??]] built. There are two good sized wars and also a number of private rooms. The heating apparatus is fine and the operating room is beautifully lighted. The cold and hot water faucets are operated with the feet so that the surgeon operating may not touch with his hands the bowl and fixings when he goes to wash his hands.
