in asking for the permission to come home altho. I have considerable material for both of us to work on. This degree is the most interesting. Last summer the ceremony was given and I saw it but did not learn all that I desired of it. W. will give it all.

And I think in one of my last letters I told you that the woman who knew a part of the weaving degree has about consented to recite for me the part that she knows. I wish I could get it all but it is very difficult now to get anything. All this is owing to the people being well off and their contempt for small fees, or pay this within reason.

I hope that Mr. Hodge will have another talk with the museum people about these two packs that I have. Of course Culin would be glad to give me much more than what I secured there
