Payment began today and I am looking for Wa-xri-zhi tomorrow. He is going to bring the tattooing outfit he buried with his father. I hope it has not been injured. He will also give me a ritual while he is here. I want to transcribe that before I leave so that I will not have to ship the records to Washington.

The detective is back again and is working hard on the lease trouble and I think he is about to catch somebody else besides Comstock in crooked deals. They have got the Council in a quandary and now they will try to get the bids they turned down approved. If they do they will be removed anyhow and new men put in.

We had our first flurry of snow here and it came while I was at Hominy. I had to stay over night at Wa-xri-zhis and it was cold. I did not suffer much and my cold did not get worse.

In replying to your last letter I do not think I said anything about your paper on The Problems of the Unity or Plurality and the Probable place of Origin of the American Aborigines. I think it is a fine paper and I am glad you sent it to me.
