Just a line to let you know that I shall try hard to be ready to leave here on the 19". If I can't get away on that date I shall surely be ready to start on the 20" if nothing untoward happens. I have just a few minutes ago finished recording the Ni-Ki-e degree and it is most interesting and complete in all its form. It is a remarkable thing, a complete exodus of the Osages beginning with their spiritual formation if it could be called so and winding up with the meeting of a strange and warlike people for whom they made all preparations to meet. I am now transcribing the records and have about finished half of them. I worked on them till nearly twelve oclock Saturday and Sunday. I shall finish them sometime this evening and then I shall get ready to get away. I have a number of things to pack for shipping and some to store away here. It will take considerable work. So I must not take the time to do much writing.
