Mrs. Lookout was very much pleased with my visit and she expressed her pleasure by presenting me with a nice warm woolen blanket. It will be useful in my drives and in the cold nights it will give me warmth. The friendship of both these people is genuine and there is really no pretense.

As soon as I finish this letter I shall be on my way to Henry Pratts. They have invited me to dinner and as it is on my way to Hominy I accepted the invitation. It will be a delightful ride as the sun is shining brightly and the air is bracing. These two people are also good friends but quite different from the Lookouts.

Something very queer has happened. The man who who threatened to shoot me two years ago invited me to dinner yesterday and tried very hard to make himself agreeable. I also carried my part in the discussions of various matters in this reservation. He is not as rabid as he was in his denunciations of the government although he still thinks that the Osages have not been given all that could be secured for their oil leases.
