a clipping from one, one to McDowell of the Board of Indian Commissioners, one to Henderson and one to Mooney. It will be a great help should the matter be again agitated in Congress.

I hope Miss. Spofford and Miss. Nicolay will make some practical suggestions about Mrs. Burlin's proposition. As soon as I finish this letter I will write Mrs. Burlin so that she may not think I am indifferent to her project. Bonnicaste has just returned from town and he has failed to get copies of the Sunday Oklahoman. He says a man delivers the paper Monday mornings and he thinks this man may have extra copies and if he has we will get some.

Lookout is to marry off his daughter and if I am here at the time of the wedding I shall try to have her picture taken in her wedding costume. I expect it will be a fine one. Bonnicastle has some postal card pictures of some weddings but they are not very clear. Anyway he will let me take them and Mr. Gill can make drawings from them.

Shin-ge-mon-in has not yet returned but he is much better. Bonnicastle telephoned to inquire how he is. He may be here tomorrow if the weather clears up. As soon as I make the records I shall ship home the machine and make preparations to move homeward. I want to get more short myths before I leave. There may not be time to translate the records in that case I shall have to carry them by hand in order to avoid breakage.

I have been translating the Wa-tse-mon-i records, and am again perplexed about the use of the word, appurtenances, which he uses.

Affly,
