At Carey's
Sept. 19, 1919-

My dear M,

I am still here at Carey's and am resting. I like the quiet of the place - it is restful. It rained for the last two days, just enough to make the ground damp, give colds to the kids. Day before yesterday Carey, Frank & I drove to Macy, I to mail a letter to you and Carey to buy provisions. Saw Jacob Parker, Levi Levy and others. I have started Levi on raising money to employ Kappler to look after the movements of Sloan on the mixed blood bill. How he will succeed is a question but he seems willing to stir the people up. If he succeeds we will engage Kappler to look after the math till the question pending in Supreme Court about the Omaha claim is settled.

Caryl came back, I hear, Monday afternoon at 4. Tuesday he came down to Macy but I did not see him as
