[[image - image of the Wright Flyer flying]]

The story of the development of the Wright Flyer through the unceasing devotion of the Wright Brothers to a New Idea, is too well known to be repeated here. The success achieved, a company formed, machine shops, wood mills, and assembling plants equipped, and a year spent in flying these machines under every conceivable test of field, altitude and weather, have resulted in our offering to the public our 1911 models. Our resources have enabled us not only to secure the best equipment and the highest skill, but also to give constant attention to the raw material used.

Wood: We send our lumber expert regularly into the West Virginia forests and there select our stock piece by piece. Only wood that is absolutely perfect is purchased and the greatest care is taken in its drying that it may retain its strength and resiliency.

Wire: The next most important material is the wire, and this is made especially for us according to our own specifications for strength and regularity.

Cloth: Our cloth is made by the most reliable mills in New England, shipped to our factory for inspection and then especially treated for us, to make it moisture proof and so not subject to shrinkage or deterioration.

Every part of the machine, including the hundreds of small steel fittings, is made in our own shops under constant supervision.
