5-1-12 |  In trial run machine use caught by strong gusts making it very hard to maneuvre should necessity of changing position of boat & providing auxiliary rudders on sides of boats. Machine was taken over & placed in car from beach. Broke camp.
||| 5-2-12- Finished  stowing car in afternoon with aviation camp supplies
||| 5-3-12- Aviation corps detached and ordered to Annapolis, Md.
||| 5-22-12- Cars arrived at G. S. K., Naval Academy, Annapolis, Md., Commenced unloading cars transferred supplies to aviation field. Put up  hangars; started repairing machine & getting camp settled. Replaced broken ribs, took out engine, thoroughly cleaned & overhauled it; sewed up tears. Put on boat running it forward 4"; made new braces for boat; put in wing tip pontoons; tail; etc.
|||6-1-12-Put in engine; connected controls & aligned them; put on new chains. Tested out engine, 3rd cyl. flooded with water, being new cyl. just installed.
|||6-3-12-Changed bottom beam of vertical rudder. Replaced 3rd cyl. Painted braces; overhauled wires.
