| 3-20-12 - The machine was run around on the water to test out new boats & engine. Experience & skill is required in the handling of these boats with aeroplane.

109 | Instructions for H C Richardsen. Engine choked; requiring landing in bad wind.

Right after landing & while on the water, the right boat snapped off, bringing right wing into the water; throwing aviator out of seat into the water & uninjured. The machine was towed to the beach Cause: fittings became loose & gave way on third guys. Damage: 2 propellors broken; hole in counter of left boat; 11 ribs broken; 2 front diagnols. Time to repair - one week.
Mar. | 23 to Apr 1- Took down machine; repaired parts & reassembled. Took engine apart cleaned & overhauled same; reassembled and put in place Ran out machine for test 
4-1 | flight. Engine flooded. Took off gas pump, started reducing clearance in pumps.
4-2- | & 3- Repaired gas pumps & intake manifold; reversed spark plugs, put brace wires to [[?]]ws of boats; repaired & replaced tachometer; repaired hydro boards.
