We have spanned the globe in a spirit of co-operation with many gentlemen from the United States to stage this event. Throughout the entire promotion, they have acted with dignity and professionalism. It is our intention to work with our "mates" from the U.S.A. again in the near future to bring other exciting events to Australia. We have very high hopes of luring the Heavyweight Champion of the World, Muhammad Ali, here to defend his crown within the year. The success of this afternoon's show was dependent upon the Australian people - the greatest sports fans in the world. We are in your debt and hope that the show will be repayment in kind for your support. We thank you. It has required a tremendous amount of teamwork, enthusiasm and possibly most important - faith. The historic heavyweight show that takes place today, will be seen via satellite in millions of homes throughout the world from Melbourne. Today, the sporting eyes of the world will be on the Junction Oval at St. Kilda.
