This collection of mounted birds contained representatives of every one of the 104 families of birds found in the Western Hemisphere except the Family [[underlined]] Rheidae, [[/underlined]] which was represented by finely executed colored plates of two Genera, suitably framed. In most cases, particularly among the smaller birds, each family was represented by sufficient number of species (mostly of different genera) to show the extreme variations of size, form, and coloration.
