[[underlined]] July 15 [[/underlined]]. Had to stay all night at Leeds to get a train to Bottineau, nearest point to the Turtle Mts. Left Leeds at 2:12 PM & reached Bottineau about 4 P.M.

Tramped over prairie at both places and made lists of mammals, birds and plants.

[[underlined]] July 16 [[/underlined]]. Got a team at Bottineau and drove north through the Turtle Mts. to Lake Metigoshe, then went around the lake in boat, getting good notes on birds, mammals & plants. 

Visited an old resident of the mountains, Thomas O'Neil and got all he knew of the local natural history and also got some specimens.

[[underlined]] July 17 [[/underlined]] Returned to Bottineau and thence by rail to Rugby Junction and Minot. Had several hours to wait at Minot and got good notes. Took train to Valley City at 10:45 P.M.
