The uniforms are not as neat as our own for they have too many straps and brass works. The chiefs and the N.C.O's all carry canes, or "sticks" as they call them. We cannot get used to that part of it. It is [[strikethrough]] agg [[/strikethrough]] galling to have a men shake a stick at you and command you to execute this or that. A sword or nothing at all would be better!
