leaving Canada a Curtiss JN4 (our stock training machine) turned completely over on its nose during the takeoff. The aviator, who had the poor luck to crash 3 machines in 3 days running, was held in by his strap in a ludicrous upsidedown position. Luckily there was no fire. But a perfectly good aeroplane smashed beyond hope in the space of a second. It made me think harder than I've thought before.

Well, the driver of our hospital joy wagon told me how nice it was here. No accidents of serious import to date and nothing except wrecked machines.
