Same old greasy ham and eggs. Same old stewed beef. Same old "turkey off a pig" - alias H-A-M. The crowd was furious! And furious to such an extent that the O.I.C. (officer in charge) promised a hearty meal in recompense Sunday. They were as good as the word issued by the O.I.C. for we had good old turk, and cranberries, and 'taters, and ice cream, fruit, and [[underline]] caramels [[/underline]]. That's what we'd like 'bout every day at least once a day, but I know that we are dissatisfied merely because [[underline]] they treated us so well at Toronto [[/underline]]. And besides they haven't got affairs going well enough in the States for the organization to provide all the material necessary for expedient "carrying-on" of the new army.
