Dicken's Christmas Carol by the Bluebird Photoplay Company.

The fortunes of the Crachit family, Old Scrooge, Tiny Tim, and the kindred spirits of their English time of our Lord were followed with the deepest interest by the "mob". The operator was still green on his job and every time the film broke or was mixed up a howl and stamping of rage was at once entered into by all, including yours truly. Which leads me to philosophize and consider that the old classics with their wonderful pulling on the intellect and heartstrings will always survive and make a better impression on the less-educated than any passing nondescript of the day.

Anyway the modern photoplay seems to be insipid, futile, and [[underline]]what it depicts seems not to be worth fighting for [[/underline]]; but show a [[underline]] happy [[/underline]], homey, picture with a generous splashing of good mothers and sweethearts - and you reach right into the depth of the enlisted man's feelings.
