To Christopher Columbus and other intrepid explorers of his class I hereby take off my hat and murmur a few words of laudation. I am experiencing a few of the thrills of this rolling sea life and here, in the well-appointed drawing room of this liner, I own that I appreciate [[strikethrough]] all that [[/strikethrough]] ^[[in measure the trials]] the original sea rovers faced in their cockelshells. We expect a storm somewhere in this voyage across the Atlantic for this is the month of March and March is no gentle lamb.  If a storm pitches this craft to more tipsy degrees than this comparatively smooth sea is doing, though, I'm afraid I'll have cause to really worry.
