We spent considerable money and time chasing about the early morning twilight of London streets, and through many famous squares, circles, and thoroughfares looking for a place whereon to lay our weary heads. All the hotels were filled, and unlike the good old American practice, we couldn't even get a cot put in some forgotten corner. Finally a less centered hostelry gave us hospitality at a very dear rate and after doing away with the bolster that seems to be the principal feature of all foreign couches, we managed to restore our spirits by a sleep till noon.
