some height the engine is cut down to 1000-1100 which is the "cruising speed" and at these rev. (r.p.ms) we made our circles and landings.
These buses came down out of the sky at a [[strikethrough]] decided [[/strikethrough]] rapid scoot and instead of cutting the revs. off to a low number which would have no effect on the pulling power, we must cut off completely, that is, come down with no engines at all, catching the power ^[[with the switch or throttle]] again before the engine dies. The style of landing is similar to what we previously had learned although the "pancaking" is a trifle more abrupt with the beginner.
The work so far is supposed to have been an hour or two in the "rollers", two or three (or more) "hops" on the 23 doubles, and 11 and 12 "hops" on the singles plus half an hour air work. My next is the 18 meter single (which is the 23 with less wing surface [[strikethrough]] ) [[strikethrough]] and correspondingly greater.
