to be maintained, as was a greater push necessary to keep from climbing even after cutting down the engine speed.  Of course, the rigging of the machines is what determines how well it will fly and when we get our own buses we can tune 'em up to suit ourselves.
     
The 30 landings and half hour air work in the "18's" was not without its little excitement of its own.  I got balled out for (1) landing too fast (2) twitching the rudder (3) side slipping into the circle marked on the 'drome (4) scattering the bunch ^[[of officers]] on the ground (5) taking off in early morning before the fog had cleared (6) cutting around the course too shortly.  No harm was done, however, except to make the grouchy lieutenant tell me that I'd have to be careful not to bust the [[underline]] machine [[/underline].
     
Here's a new term that the same instructor impressed on me when I "caught" the engine too quickly after the wheels touched the ground.  He said, "Look out you don't
