into the stomach and a consequent swish, amid much vibration and trembling of the wings (which made you feel uncomfortably sure that they were coming off or that the engine was loosening from its bearings) and you were flying level in the opposite direction.
The "renversements" were harder. The sensitiveness of the controls was evident here as never before, for me. ^[[While speeding]] At a fast rate the machine was [[strikethrough]] suddd [[/strikethrough]] suddenly tilted upwards [[strikethrough]] [[?]] [[/strikethrough]] ^[[by a quick jerk on the stick.]] Then a quick [[underline]] kick [[/underline]] on the rudder, bringing it back before too much effect was produced (and at the same time cutting the engine) then a gentle pull to bring it out of the nose dive - in the opposite direction from the original.
