In the forest of Venchères northwest of Pont-à-Mousson the first infantry and artillery attack that I've been a party in (up aloft, that is) is going on more quietly now ^[[(7:15 A.M.)]]; I assume the boys of the 82 division and the Frenchmen with them are digging themselves in in preparation of the German counterattack. It is suggestive that out on the road passing the airdrome await ^[[await]] a number of the [[strikethrough]] little hooded blue French Red troop waggons.....[[/strikethrough]] ^[[little blue hooded French wagons with a Red Cross on the side.....]]

Such a spectacle I never before did see and I'm glad I'm able to be here to write a bit about it.
