Today was Sunday [[underline]] was [[/underline]]n't it! Well, "C" flight was supposed to have gone on early morning patrol but rain prevented. Captain Biddle ^[[of the 13th]] was up with one of his patrols, however, and the Americans put on a little show just to our north, and the Captain came back with many bullet holes in his planes. Putnam and I were later in the hangar waiting for rain to cease when a full fledged ^[[infantry]] colonel came in and solemly inspected our ships. We didn't know exactly what to do about his actions and finally thinking I couldn't let him run around loose without attention I offered my services. He accepted by asking
