It gave some of our party qualms to go along screened roads feeling that the Huns would note the dust kicked up by an automobile and send a shell over. We went into the French first line trenches and actually stood in spots where we observed Germans through field glasses, and I suppose they did likewise with respect to us. This is a tough war!

The night bombers have paid us two visits and the [[moor?]] only just blooming. Wow! Last evening they bombed Nancy in scandlous fashion. Our Liberty planes are about ready to get in return licks.
