Not having been out of camp for many days I welcomed the opportunity of a tour of the country à la Cadillac to save me from going stale again.
During the trip I never saw so much war activity [[strikethrough]] to date [[/strikethrough]] ^[[up to this date;]].  I never knew there were so many "camions" in the world as we passed.  English, French, American appeared everywhere in strength.  Passage had been made the night before of many divisions of troops and supply trains.  Here and there an overturned lorry, or one that had heeled over into a jam, told the story of the night passage with its pressing ahead into the darkness of strange shapes, its ever present feeling that: No! the road does [[underline]] not [[/underline]] turn that way - quickly, put on the brakes!
There is no doubt that either this offensive is a big bluff or else the American Command
