509 Dined at the Louvre Hotel, then went to "La Reine Joyeuse" at the Apollo, next to the [[strikethrough]] cafe [[/strikethrough]] ^[[Casino]] de Paris which is in back of Trinity. Show was sorry! [[line]] Friday 21st Harsh trip to Nice. Leave train 2 hours late and 24 hours with 3 shavetails and 3 A.N.Cs nearly drove me crazy. I couldn't be sociable 'cause I knew I had the flu. Shavetails all came from Boston, hang 'em! All I did was to shiver and push aspirin into myself. Went to Hotel Angleterre, got a second rate room that was very different from my dreams, took quinine encore and went to bed for a long stretch. Still undecided whether or not to go to hospital here. Will try it for another day. Paris was sunny for a stretch when I left it and it is a wonder city when it gets out of its habitual foggy mist. I took Dominic Gibbs and Francis Swain to Voisin's for Dejèuner. Great old place which, I imagine, had more life in older times than it has now. The Chateau La Tour Blanche 1881 which we had there was so bouquet-y that I have reminiscences of it now.
