April 1st

Busy morning. Luncheon with Captain Chris Ford at the 213th mess. Time grand. Chris has had ^[[a varied set of]] experiences:- cushion flyer, in French army, LaFayette Squadron, 103rd (Americanized LaFayette under Major, later Lt. Col. Thaw) and prisoner, and escaped prison (after Nov 11th) and Co.O. of the 213th. Decorated by [[Rank?]] and Americans and has some story to tell!

In afternoon climbed into our new biplane Bryant and staid in it for 3 hours giving rides to the enlisted men, and to one Cavalry officer who happened along. Rode 'em all over and up and down Liffol-le-Grand, Neufchateau
